FARMINGTON — A Livermore Falls couple is happy to welcome their new son, Adam Kevin Oberton, born on Jan. 1, 2015.
He is the first baby born at Franklin Memorial Hospital in 2015.
“He’s our third boy, and we’re happy to have him,” father John Oberton said as mother Kimberly Bellanceau held the sleeping bundle on Friday.
He joins his brothers, Nathan, 4, and Nickolas, 2.
He’s very good, Bellanceau said. He eats and sleeps and doesn’t cry.
The couple arrived at FMH at about 7 a.m. Thursday morning and the baby was born at 9:52 a.m. There were no problems with the delivery, she said.
Dr. Tara Aumand of Franklin Health Women’s Care attended the birth of Adam, a 7-pound, 1.2-ounce baby boy, who was 29 inches long.
John Oberton’s mother, Blanche Davis of Livermore Falls, said the baby is named after her brother, Adam Hennessey, who died in 2011.
“He was someone we loved also,” she said.
Davis and Bellanceau’s mother, Heather Hayes of Old Orchard Beach, were at the hospital, along with the couple’s two children. The grandmothers were taking turns holding the new grandchild.
Since Adam was Franklin Memorial Hospital’s first baby of 2015, his family was presented Friday with a Step2 Push Around Buggy donated by Franklin Memorial Hospital. The buggy was full of an assortment of gifts donated by area merchants: a large canvas bag donated by Franklin Savings Bank; onesie, the Calico Patch; a book, “Farmyard Numbers,” Devaney, Doak & Garrett Booksellers; a $50 gift certificate, FMH Auxiliary Gift Shop; infant spoons, FMH Maternal and Child Health Unit and Trask Jewelers; a $25 deposit account certificate, Bangor Savings Bank; and a $25 gift card, Hannaford.
