NORTH ANSON — During a tale of two halves, Kelsey Hutchins drained 20 points to lead Dirigo to a 44-43 victory over Carrabec in girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Cobras (3-4) led by an impressive 31-15 over undefeated Dirigo at the half. Emma Pluntke paced Carrabec with a team-high 14 points.
The Cougars (6-0) turned up the tempo offensively in the second half. And the defense held the Cobras to six points in each quarter to prevent their first loss of the season.
Jessica Conant contributed 12 points for Dirigo in the winning effort.
Vinalhaven 51, Buckfield 47
VINALHAVEN — Freshman center Gilleyanne Davis Oakes had a stellar game with 22 points as Vinalhaven rallied back for a 51-47 victory over Buckfield in EWC girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Vikings (3-4) led 27-17 at the half. But junior forward Alexis Bennett and senior guard Kerseyanne Goyette altered the momentum in the second half for Buckfield with a 12-4 run in the third frame and a temporary lead in the fourth quarter.
The Bucks (3-4) were tied 47-47 with less than a minute remaining when Vikings’ sophomore forward Bailey Wadleigh, who had 12 of her 14 points in the fourth quarter, posted the final four points to seal the win for Vinalhaven.
Rangeley 93, Islesboro 13
WATERVILLE — Senior forward Taylor Esty compiled 22 points and 10 rebounds in a balanced attack as Rangeley sank Islesboro 93-13 in girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Lakers (8-0) put up 28 points in each of the first two quarters for a 56-8 lead at halftime. Senior guard Seve Deery-DeRaps contributed 19 points for Rangeley.
Blayke Morin contributed 16 points and six assists for the Lakers.
The Eagles (3-5) managed a frame-high of four points as Krsytal Randlett posted a team-high five points in the losing effort.
Madison 46, Lisbon 21
MADISON — Junior forward Aly LeBlanc netted 11 points and hauled down eight rebounds as Madison cruised to a 46-21 victory over Lisbon in MVC girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Bulldogs (5-4) put on a fine defensive show in the first half, only allowing two points for a 20-2 halftime lead. Erin Whalen contributed five points from the charity stripe.
Junior guard Bree Sautter had the lion’s share of the Greyhound (1-5) points with eight.
Lincoln 58, Leavitt 41
NEWCASTLE — Sophomore guard Gabrielle Wajer scored 18 points to lead Lincoln Academy to a 58-41 win over Leavitt in girls’ basketball action Tuesday.
The Eagles (6-2) jumped out to a 35-17 hafltime lead. Taylor Oliver contributed 10 points for Lincoln Academy.
Freshman forward Sophia Gilbert posted a team-high 15 points for the Hornets (2-6).
Boothbay 50, St. Dom’s 29
BOOTHBAY — Page Brown and Morgan Crocker combined for 29 points as Boothbay sailed to a 50-29 victory over St. Dom’s in girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Seahawks (8-0) caught some tail wind, taking a 33-8 halftime lead. Sara Dugan and Cagney O’Brien helped pace the balanced attack with another combined 17 points for Boothbay.
Faih Grady tossed nine field goals and two free throws to record a game-high 20 points for the Saints (1-6).
Monmouth 58, Wiscasset 41
WISCASET — Sidney Wilson harnessed 19 points to lead Monmouth to a 58-41 victory over Wiscasset in girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Mustangs (5-2) used an aggressive press to take a comfortable lead. Tia Day netted four field goals, including two from 3-point range, and four free throws for 14 points for Monmouth.
Kayla Gordon paced the Wolverines (3-6) with a team-leading 13 points in the losing effort.

Leavitt/EL/Poland 1, Yarmouth/Freeport/Gray-NG 0
NORTH YARMOUTH — Danica Nadeau intercepted a pass, danced around three defenders and deked the keeper to the ice before tucking the puck in on a backhander at 11:05 of the second period to help lift Leavitt/Edward Little/Poland to a 1-0 girls’ hockey victory over Yarmouth/Freeport/Gray-New Gloucester on Friday.
Savannah Shaw stopped all 15 shots she faced to earn the shutout for the Red Hornets (9-1), who also killed off six Yarmouth/Freeport/Gray-New Gloucester power plays in the win.
Hannah Williams was solid in the cage for the home team, stopping 12 of the 13 shots she faced in the loss.
Boys’ basketball
Leavitt 48, Erskine 43
SOUTH CHINA — Isaiah Carter dropped in 15 points to lead all scorers and direct the Leavitt Hornets to the 48-43 victory over the Erskine Academy Eagles in a boys’ basketball game Friday.
He also finished the game with eight rebounds, five rebounds and five assists. Eli Calder scored 12 points and Gabe Seeley had 10 points for the Hornets (4-5). Matt Clary and Trevor Brown led Erskine (0-9) with 13 points
Islesboro 65, Rangeley 41
WATERVILLE — Forrest Boucher poured in 25 points and teammates Connor Grindle and Steven Crawford each added 12 as Islesboro overpowered Rangeley 65-41 in a boys’ basketball game Friday at Thomas College.
The game remained tight throughout the first half, with Islesboro leading 25-24 before Islesboro erupted with 40 points in the second half.
For the Lakers (3-5), Timmy White scored the team-high 17 points.
Dirigo 105, Carrabec 37
NORTH ANSON — Junior forward Riley Robinson banked 23 points to lead Dirigo to a 105-37 triumph over Carrabec in boys’ basketball action Friday.
The Cougars pounced in the first half, taking a 56-17 lead at the midpoint. Senior guard Tyler Frost contributed 14 points for Dirigo.
