AUGUSTA (AP) — People from across Maine are pouring into the Augusta Civic Center to watch Republican Gov. Paul LePage be sworn in for a second term.

Republican Senate President Michael Thibodeau will administer the oath of office to LePage on Wednesday before a joint session of the Legislature.

The governor will also lay out his policy goals for the next four years, which are expected to include reducing the size of government, cutting the state’s income tax and overhauling welfare programs. He will also likely provide insight into his budget proposal, which will be unveiled on Friday.

LePage’s inaugural team expects about 3,200 people to attend the ceremony. About 2,700 people are expected to attend the governor’s inaugural party Wednesday evening, which will feature live music and dancing.
