1932 – 2015

AUBURN — Lorraine C. Parker, 82, of 176 Summer St., Auburn, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, at her home.

Born in Auburn on Oct. 14, 1932, she was the daughter of Dolor and Ida Fogg Gagnon. She was educated in local schools and worked as a packer and supervisor in the shoe industry until her retirement at age 65.

On May 7, 1965, she married Arthur P. Parker, who passed away on Jan. 15, 2011.

Lorraine was a colon cancer survivor, and facing the disease led her to cherish time spent with her family. She also enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include a daughter, Dolores Smith of Sanford, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Robin Jacobsen of Auburn; two sisters, Lucille and husband, Dean Wiers, of Lewiston and Edna Karnes of Houlton; five grandchildren, Dolor Smith Jr. and life partner, Elizabeth Conway, Season Myers and husband, Jim, Thomas Donaghy, Jamie Smith and significant other, Sarah Hyde, and Alexis Smith; four great-grandchildren, Dolor Smith III and significant other, Emily Banville, Noah Smith, Hayley Smith and Dakota Myers; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and loving husband, she was predeceased by a son, Dolor Smith Sr.
