NEW SHARON — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will hold its second Citizens Police Academy in February and March.
Classes will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays from Feb. 10 to March 31 at the Town Office, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said in a news release. They are free and open to anyone living in Franklin County.
“Last year, we held these classes in Stratton,” he said. “This year, we are hoping to draw people living in Chesterville, Industry, New Sharon and the surrounding towns who are interested in learning how their Sheriff’s Office conducts law enforcement operations in a rural environment.”
The six-week course will cover topics that include patrol operations, use of police dogs, drug investigations and administrative functions.
If interested, please contact the department at 778-2680.
