FARMINGTON — Farmington is contracting with John E. O’Donnell and Associates of New Gloucester for assessing services.

Weekly office hours in Farmington will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays. Farmington property owners may continue to use [email protected] for emails. They can also contact the firm directly on regular business days between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

When John E. O’Donnell III can be reached by phone at 926-4044 or fax 926-4037. Emails can be sent to [email protected].

O’Donnell or his designee would need to be contacted to inspect properties and make valuation adjustments, Town Manager Richard Davis said.

Town Clerk Leanne Pinkham continues to provide some services through the Assessor Office, she said.

Along with scheduling appointments with the assessor, Pinkham also answers calls about maps and lots, property values, who owns a property, the amount of taxes and whether they are paid, she said.

She can answer questions on Homestead and Veteran applications and the necessary forms that need to be submitted with the application.

Appraisers and insurance agents come in to the office, almost daily, for information on tax maps, property information, deeds and transfers, she said.

She answers email requests regarding properties and takes address changes.

Pinkham also assists business owners on questions regarding their personal property such as what they are being taxed on or how to notify the office if a business is closing.

There are also other tasks she completes “behind the scenes of customer service,” she said.

More information on the assessing service is available on the town website at www.Farmington-Maine.org
