AUBURN — Dixon Dildovico scored twice and added an assist to lead the Edward Little Red Eddies to a 5-2 victory over the Noble/Wells Knights in a boys’ hockey game Saturday.

Liam Benson, Max Giard and Matt Verrill each had a goal and an assist for the Red Eddies (6-5). Cade Chapman had three assists, while Devin Dumont made 23 saves in the victory.

Evan Whitten and Dean Pratt each scored in the third period for Noble/Wells (6-3). Wyatt Ricker made 27 saves.

Pol/G-NG/OH 7, Windham 3

AUBURN — Jason Cote and Ryan Lavoie each had two goals to lead the Poland/Gray-New Gloucester/Oak Hill 26ers to the 7-3 win over the Windham Eagles in boys’ hockey.

Cote also added an assist.

Isaiah Dubois and Deryk Belanger each had a goal and an assist. Brandon Pelton also scored for the 26ers (4-6-0).

Tyle Johnson, Zack Callahan and Gage Chenard scored for Windham (3-5-1).

Girls’ hockey

EL/Poland 7, Winslow 0

AUBURN — Saige Arensault had two goals to lead the Leavitt/Edward Little/Poland Red Hornets to a 7-0 victory over the Winslow Black Raiders in a girls’ hockey game Saturday.

Sam Martineau and Maddy Derosa each had a goal and an assist. Emma Martineau, Ally MacKenize and Abby Roy also scored.

Girls’ basketball

Boothbay 61, Mt. Abram 10

SALEM — Sara Durgan threw in four 3-pointers and tallied 17 points as Boothbay dropped Mt. Abram 61-10 in a girls’ basketball game Saturday.

The Seahawks (12-1) easily built a 35-7 lead at halftime and held the Roadrunners (1-12) to just a point in third quarter.

Morgan Crocker scored 15 points and Page Brown had 13 for Boothbay.

Amherst 70, Bates 53

AMHERST, Mass. — A strong first half and a well-balanced attack by No. 25 nationally ranked Amherst lifted the Jeffs to a 70-53 NESCAC win over the Bates men’s basketball team Saturday afternoon in LeFrak Gymnasium.

With the win, the Jeffs improved to 11-4 overall on the year and 2-2 in the NESCAC. The Bobcats lost their second straight game to drop to 11-4 on the year and 1-2 in league play.

David George posted his sixth double-double of the year as he scored 11 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds, including four offensive. He also blocked two shots. Eric Conklin went a perfect 6-for-6 from the floor for a season-high 12 points, and Jayde Dawson added 11. Dawson and Connor Green led the team with four assists each.

The Bobcats were led by Mike Boornazian with a game-high 16 points on 7-of-18 shooting. He also grabbed seven rebounds. Graham Safford added 11 points and a team-high two assists, and Marcus Delpeche pulled in 10 boards and registered eight points.

Thomas 74, UMF 60

FARMINGTON — Uriah Forest-Bulley matched a career-high with 24 points and nine rebounds as the University of Maine at Farmington (4-10, 3-5) fell to North Atlantic Conference opponent Thomas College, 74-60, on Saturday evening at Dearborn Gymnasium.

The Beavers and Terriers battled toe-to-toe in the first half and took a slim, 27-25, lead into the locker room. Forest-Bulley scored 14 of his 24 points in the first half and was the only UMF player to score double figures in the opening frame.

Skiing

Bates’ Grossman shines

RUMFORD — Senior Hallie Grossman’s seventh-place finish out of 71 racers led the Bates women’s Nordic ski team to fifth place among 13 squads in the women’s 5K freestyle race on Saturday at Black Mountain, as the Bates Carnival drew to a close. ‘Bates’ combined Nordic and alpine ski teams placed seventh out of 16 teams at the Bates Carnival with 433 points. The Bobcats trailed Colby by only seven and edged St. Lawrence by 13 points. The University of Vermont won the carnival with 914 points, with Dartmouth the runner-up with 854.
