HINCKLEY — Senior forward Taylor Esty tossed a compelling double-double with 36 points and 11 rebounds to lead Rangeley to a 64-31 victory over Hyde in girls’ basketball action Tuesday.
The Lakers (12-0) handed the Phoenix (9-1) their first loss of the season by pulling away in the second quarter and never looking back. Blayke Morin contributed 11 points and seven assists for Rangeley.
Junior forward Diamond Brown recorded a team-leading 15 points for the Phoenix, while Lilli Allen chipped in with 10 points.
Boothbay 50, Lisbon 20
BOOTHBAY — Morgan Crocker tabulated 21 points in a balanced attack as Boothbay dispatched Lisbon 50-20 in girls’ basketball action Tuesday.
The Seahawks (13-1) were leading by a respectable 28-17 margin after three quarters when they turned on the afterburners. Boothbay went on a 22-3 tear in the final frame.
Kaylin Le led the Greyhounds (2-11) with four field goals and a pair of free throws for 10 points, while Jasmine Le added four points.
Hall-Dale 40, Monmouth 38
FARMINGDALE — Dani Sweet posted a game-leading 13 points and eight rebounds to lift Hall-Dale to a 40-38 triumph over Monmouth in girls’ basketball action Tuesday.
The Bulldogs (9-3) led 24-20 at the half. Kayla Johnson provided 12 points and six rebounds for Hall-Dale.
Haley West netted 11 points, while Sidney Wilson added another 10 for the Mustangs (9-4).
Boys’ basketball
Hyde 43, Rangeley 24
SKOWHEGAN — Andrew Palermo netted a game-high 17 points to lead Hyde to a 43-24 victory over Rangeley in boys’ basketball action Tuesday.
The Phoenix (9-1) soared to a 28-9 halftime lead, before coasting to the same 19-point margin at the final.
Orrin Mitchell paced the Lakers (3-9) with a team-leading eight points.
