AUGUSTA (AP) — An Augusta man is facing charges after allegedly firing a gun during a fight, narrowly missing another man’s head, and striking an apartment building.
Patrick Lappin was held on $25,000 cash bail after making an initial appearance Monday in Kennebec County Superior Court on charges of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
The Kennebec Journal (http://bit.ly/1DsyVHs ) reported that police responded to Glenridge Drive at around 3 a.m. Sunday for a report of a gunshot.
A witness said she saw two men tussling in a parking lot, heard a gunshot and saw a muzzle flash.
Lappin told police he confronted the other man because he was pushing a woman, and the gun discharge was accidental.
The bullet was found in a second-floor apartment bedroom.
