FARMINGTON — Three people were taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital with minor injuries after a chain-reaction crash on Farmington Falls Road about 11 a.m. Wednesday.
A fourth person drove himself to the hospital.
Jacqueline Rich, 22, of Madison and her passenger, Glenn Rich, 26, of Skowhegan, were taken to the hospital by NorthStar ambulance, Farmington police officer William Tanner said.
The three vehicles were traveling to Farmington on Route 2, also known as Farmington Falls Road. Lawrence Parker, 46, of New Sharon stopped his 1995 Ford pickup to make a left turn into the Twitchell Fuel lot, north of the office, Tanner said.
Rich stopped her 2000 Pontiac behind Parker’s pickup when Dana Senecal, 69, of Strong apparently didn’t see her and couldn’t stop his 2004 Mercury, Tanner said. Senecal’s car pushed Rich’s vehicle into Parker’s truck, he said.
Lawrence Parker’s father, Merton Parker, 73, of New Sharon was riding with him.
Merton Parker was taken to the hospital by family members for hip pain, Tanner said. Lawrence drove himself to the hospital to be checked.
All four were treated and released, according to a hospital representative.
Collins Wrecker towed the other two vehicles from the scene. Both cars were heavily damaged, he said.
Cpl. Nathan Bean of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office was first on the scene and helped until Tanner arrived. Members of Farmington Fire and Rescue helped with traffic.
