Larry Pelletier has worked endless hours on the Auburn School Committee and has always put the needs of the students first. Even when he was in the hospital, he watched the meetings on television to keep up on things.

I was very shocked when committee member Tom Kendall made the remark that if no one else came forward to run for Ward 5 in June, the board would place Pelletier back on the board.

The thing is, if Pelletier wants to run in June, it is not up to the board to place him back on the board; it is up to the voters.

I think Kendall has overstepped his authority.
