AUGUSTA — The prediction of another punishing snowstorm Saturday is forcing the The Maine Principals’ Association to adjust its Saturday tournament schedule.

The start time for the girls’ hockey state championship between Lewiston and Falmouth high schools at the Colisee in Lewiston on Saturday has been moved from 7 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The MPA has also adjusted the wrestling state championships. While the start time remains the same, the consolation and state championship matches will now be held at the same time.

The basketball tournament schedule remains unchanged, but the MPA has stated that any postponement decisions will be made by noon Saturday.

The following is the copy of the statement by the MPA on this weekend’s tournament/championship schedule changes:

No changes have been made at this time.  Decisions will be made no later than noon on Saturday.

Time Change – – Girls’ State Ice Hockey Championship

Due to the impending snow storm, the start time for the Girls’ Ice Hockey State Championship game has been moved from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The game will be played at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston.

 State Indoor Track Meets – Classes A and B

The start time for the Class A Indoor Track Meet at the University of Southern Maine and the Class B Meet at Bates College has been moved from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  The same order of events will be followed at both meets.

 State Swim Championships – Classes A and B

 Saturday, February 14            

Class B Boys @ UMO, 10:30 a.m.  start – building opens at 9:00 a.m.

 Monday, February 16             

Class B Girls @ UMO, 1:30 p.m. start – building opens at noon

 Tuesday, February 17             

Class A Girls @ Bowdoin, 10:00 a.m. start – building opens at 8:30 a.m.

 Wednesday, February 18       

Class A Boys @ Bowdoin, 10:00 a.m. start – building opens at 8:30 a.m.

 Wrestling State Championship

The start times remain the same and the Consolation Finals and Individual State Championships will now run simultaneously.
