WILTON — The Wilton Post Office reopened Friday, two days after it was closed because of structural issues related to the roof, a U.S. Postal Service official said Friday.
Melissa Lohnes of Postal Service Corporate Communications said normal operations will resume Saturday. She said as far as she knew no major repair work had to be done.
The problem was discovered at closing time Tuesday afternoon, she said Wednesday. “We deemed it was unsafe to open the post office Wednesday morning,” she said.
Determining the problem and correcting it would be up to the landlord, she said.
The flat-roofed building at 454 Main St. is leased from Fan Tan Realty LLC of East Rockaway, N.Y.
