ROCKLAND (AP) — Voters in the Rockland area are getting ready to select Maine’s newest state representative.

A special election is being held Tuesday for the House District 93 seat, which was left open after Elizabeth Dickerson resigned in January after moving out of state.

The two-term Democrat said professional and personal opportunities had developed since her re-election in November.

House District 93 encompasses Rockland and Owls Head.

Four candidates are on the ballot. The Democrat is Anne Beebe-Center and the Republican is James Kalloch.

Also in the running are Green Party candidate Ron Huber and Libertarian Shawn Levasseur.
