BETHEL — Allen Connors, managing partner of The Bethel Inn Resort, has announced the promotion of Travis Brooks to the position of head golf professional.

Brooks is a graduate of Telstar Regional High School in Bethel and earned a degree in business management from St. Joseph’s College in Standish. He is a member of the Brooks family, longtime owners of Brooks Brothers in Bethel. Married to the former Justine Carver, also of Bethel, they have a son.

His new responsibilities include supervising the golf pro shop personnel, organizing tournaments for country club members and special events, including the New England Couples Championship and the Fall Festival Pro Am. He also will supervise the Guaranteed Performance School of Golf and all ongoing teaching activities.

He has long been associated with the resort, playing golf with his father as a child, then working on golf course maintenance and later becoming an assistant in the golf shop.
