Obie was fanatical about New England sports teams and was fortunate to have had season tickets to the New England Patriots for many years. He loved his home on Thompson Lake, particularly enjoying the sunsets and riding on his pontoon boat, and he took great pride in the maintenance and small flower pots he planted around the house. Although he never worked as a carpenter, he took a lot of pleasure in time spent in his garage woodworking, crafting many wonderful pieces.

Paul is survived by his wife, Patricia of Oxford; two sons, Patrick O’Brien and his companion, Cheryl Barker, of Oxford; Michael O’Brien and his wife, Susan, of Poland; mother-in-law, Ardis Curran Lavoie of Windham, N.H.; daughter-in-law, Laura O’Brien of Sabattus; grandchildren, Brenden and Michele Barker, Charles Larson and his companion, Katie St. Michel, Timothy O’Brien, Travis and Gina LaBrecque and Jeff and Renée Richardson; six great-grandchildren, Emilee, Kadi, Coura Beth, Cheyeanna, Mathias and Mya; a brother, William O’Brien, and his wife, Anne, of Reading, Mass.; brothers and sister-in-law, John, Gerald, Edward, Paul and Kevin Curran and Linda Rea; and several nieces and nephews.
