Fifty years ago this year, Lewiston hosted one of the most controversial and famous sporting events of all time, the boxing match between Mohammad Ali and Charles “Sonny” Liston.
From 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 26, Baxter Brewing will host an event in support of White Dog Arts to raise money for the documentary. All proceeds of beer sales will go toward funding the film.
“The Phantom Punch — Raising Ali,” a documentary film, will focus not just on the events surrounding May 25, 1965, but will explore aspects of personal memories, civic and cultural identity and inevitable changes that come with time.
Following a sneak peek of the film, Director Gary Robinov, Executive Producer Charlie Hewitt and Producer Sandy Marquis will talk.
