FARMINGTON — The University of Maine at Farmington Testing Services — a facility offering professional certification exams to the public — is now offering the ParaPro Assessment exam for teachers’ aides and assistants looking for certification in the instruction of reading, writing and basic math competencies to school children.

The ParaPro Assessment is a professional certification that ensures teacher aides and assistants that they have met the higher standards of qualification required by the No Child Left Behind Act.

The UMF Testing Services offers professional and educational certification exams, placement tests and proctoring services in a less disruptive, small testing environment and features computer labs with a combined seating for 12.

In addition to the ParaPro, it administers the Praxis Series exams; Accuplacer; ASE; Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES); College Level Exam Program (CLEP); College Credit Exam (DSST); Miller Analogies Test (MAT); Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); and certification and licensure exams for medical, educational, government agencies, trade and professional associations through partners Castle Worldwide, Kryterion and PSI.
