BANGOR (AP) — One of two men convicted of a triple slaying in Maine nearly three years ago during a drug-related dispute is asking a judge for a new trial.

WABI-TV (http://bit.ly/1NKvrGo ) reported that lawyers for Randall Daluz, of Brockton, Mass., are scheduled to argue Thursday that their client deserves a new trial because of improper statements made during closing arguments, and because he should have been tried seperately from his co-defendant.

Daluz and Nicholas Sexton, of Warwick, R.I., were convicted last May of charges connected to the killing of three Maine residents who were shot and burned inside a car in Bangor in August 2012.

The victims were Daniel Borders, of Hermon; Nicolle Lugdon, of Eddington; and Lucas Tuscano, of Bradford.

Investigators say Sexton was angry because Borders had switched drug dealers.
