PORTLAND  — Portland police have arrested 18-year-old Christopher McMann in connection to a shooting on Elizabeth Road late Friday afternoon.

WGME reports that McMann is being charged with reckless conduct with a firearm, a class C crime punishable by up to five years imprisonment and a fine of up to $5,000, according to police, and additional charges are possible.

McMann allegedly fired multiple gunshots outside his residence during a confrontation with 20-year-old Daniel Trimble-Smith of Standish. Trimble-Smith was shot and is being treated at Maine Medical Center where he is expected to make a full recovery.

Investigators said one shot was found to have entered a nearby home while the resident was inside but in another part of the house. The bullet completely penetrated an exterior wall, damaging furniture and other personal belongings.

Physical evidence is being collected and examined as detectives continue to investigate.
