SOUTH PORTLAND — The Maine Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association held their 18th Annual Conference and Training from April 7 to April 9 in South Portland.
The conference consisted of continued education training for emergency dispatchers from all across the state of Maine. The conference ended with the presentation of several awards to area dispatchers.
Earning Silent Hero awards, given to dispatchers who go above and beyond the call of duty, were Bethany Gammon, Androscoggin County; Cory Golob, DPS Gray; Kyle Ellis, Franklin County RCC; and Jocelyn Kelly, Lewiston Auburn 9-1-1. The Maine NENA Chapter also presented the entire Lewiston Auburn 9-1-1 center staff with a special Silent Hero award for their strength and professionalism during a very difficult time.
Stan Wheeler, Franklin County RCC, was nominated for the Director of the Year Award.
