OXFORD — Gore Road will be closed to through traffic for several months this summer for a bridge replacement.
The Maine Department of Transportation will construct a new concrete bridge over Greeley Brook. Starting in July and running through September, it will be closed to traffic, torn down and a new bridge will be built over the existing footprint.
The project is expected to cost $650,000, according to project manager Joel Kittredge.
Residents on either side of the bridge will be able to get to and from their homes but will be prevented from crossing the river. Traffic will be rerouted over state roads such as Routes 117 and 121.
Gore Road serves as a major thoroughfare between Norway and Oxford.
