FARMINGTON — The Farmington Public Library and Literacy Volunteers of Franklin and Somerset counties announce the winners of this spring’s poetry contest.
In the category of under 16 years of age: First place, Hope King; second place, Addie Dubay; third place, Azalea Shanti.
In the category of 16 to 25 years of age: First place, Nicole Byrne; second place, Rose Redman; third place, Shannah Cotton.
In the category of over 25 years of age: First place, Art Dingley; second place, an anonymous poet for their poem titled “St. Jean de Luz”; third place, Kelly Sterns.
Thanks go to all of the poets who entered into this spring’s contest and special thanks to judge Katharine Rauk, a teacher and poet from Minneapolis.
There will be a public reading of the winning poems at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, at the Farmington Public Library.
