WEST PARIS — The town will grade Ballfield Road and replace a failed culvert in a bout of spring maintenance before baseball season gets in full swing.
Town Manager John White said selectmen were apprised of the road’s needs at their meeting Thursday evening and have authorized the Highway Department to begin repairs as soon as the road bed dries.
White said work on the baseball infield was completed last spring and fall and that the Recreation Department is seeking donations to stabilize baselines on the field.
Resident Barry Collette said the larger of several ball fields will be in use for the first time in several years, and just in time, because a large number of people had signed up.
“We’ve got the kids, now we need the fields,” Collette said.
Donations can be made at the Town Office to the Recreation Department.
