1947 – 2015

MEXICO — Lyndon J. “Lynny” Cantin, 67, died Tuesday, April 28, at his residence in Mexico.

He was born in Rumford on June 20, 1947, a son of Leo and Methyl (Philbrick) Cantin, and graduated in the Class of 1965 from Mexico High School, where he was very active in sports and the band.

He worked as a millwright for over 44 years, until retirement from New Page Paper Mill in Rumford. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Mexico Congregational Church.

He was an avid NASCAR and Red Sox fan. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and loved spending time with his family. He was a classic car enthusiast and will be missed by his poker buddies.

Lynny was married in Mexico on Oct. 3, 1987, to Beverly Ann Bryant of Mexico, who survives him. Other survivors include daughter, Lisa McGlinn and husband, Kevin, of Harpswell; son, Todd Cantin and fiancee, Melissa Erskine, of Dixfield; stepson, Jonathan Mann of Lafayette, N.C.; granddaughter, Britney Munroe and fiance, Josh Fecteau, of Arundel; great-granddaughter, Hayden Fecteau of Arundel; brother, Leon Cantin and wife, Carol, of Mexico.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Dee-Dee DiPompo.
