LEWISTON — Entertainer Louis Philippe and representatives from local hospitals will provide portions of the program for this month’s La Rencontre (the gathering) at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 14, at the Franco Center, 46 Cedar St.

The cost of the meal and programming is $8. Reservations must be placed by Tuesday May 12 at 4 p.m.

The doors open at 10 a.m. After the meal, musician and vocalist Louis Philippe will present French and English songs with an occasional intermingling of humor.

The May program will also include a brief talk, “I’d Rather Not Think About It: Advance Care Planning and Palliative Care.” Part of the Center’s ongoing healthcare series, this is a joint presentation by Jackie Fournier, nurse practitioner at CMMC, and Elizabeth Keene, Vice President Mission Integration at St. Mary’s Health System.

La Rencontre is not restricted to French-speakers or even those of Franco descent. All are welcome to attend.
