RUMFORD — The Police Department responded to 137 calls in the past week, Chief Stacy Carter said Friday. Among them were:

* On May 7 at 6:26 p.m., a Rumford woman reported someone stole her medication from her Waldo Street apartment. Following an investigation by Cpls. Lawrence Winson and Donald Miller, Joshua Theriault, 25, of Rumford, was arrested on two counts of stealing drugs and two counts of unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs. He was released on $3,000 unsecured bail and will be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. July 13 in 11th District Court.

* On May 7 at 1:45 p.m. on Waldo Street, Andrew Brochu, 22, of Rumford, was arrested on a warrant charging failure to appear on charges of theft and violation of bail. Brochu posted $300 cash bail and was released. He will be arraigned on June 2 in 11th District Court.

* On May 7 at 1:28 p.m., a Waldo Street resident reported a hit-and-run accident. The victim said a gold Nissan Pathfinder struck the driver’s side of his vehicle. The suspect, who was said to be in his 60s with gray hair, was seen looking at the vehicle and fleeing the scene. His vehicle should have red paint and damage on the passenger side and white stickers on the rear window.

* On May 7 at 12:43 p.m., a social worker reported the theft of money from one of her clients on Franklin Street. Sgt. Doug Maifeld is investigating.

* On May 6 at 4:46 p.m., a Cumberland Street resident reported that a tire was slashed on his vehicle. Damage was estimated at $100. Maifeld is investigating.

* On May 5 at 2:39 p.m. on Memorial Bridge, Thorin Walton, 40, of Rumford was arrested on a warrant charging failure to pay fines on a charge of theft. Walton posted $105 cash bail and was released. He will be arraigned on July 13 in 11th District Court, a clerk said Friday morning.

* On May 5 at 11:35 a.m., a Cumberland Street resident reported the theft of money from his residence. Maifeld is investigating.

* On May 3 at 11:45 a.m., Christopher McNally, 31, of Sherman, was arrested on a charge of unlawful possession of a schedule W drug. He was released on $100 cash bail and will be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. July 7 in Oxford County Superior Court.

* On May 1 at 5:22 p.m., the department received a report of an attempted burglary on Burgess Hill Road. The suspect was scared off while attempting entry. Maifeld is investigating.

* On May 1 at 10:19 a.m., Maifeld was alerted to a burglary and theft at a Wyman Hill residence that happened sometime in the past few months.
