PARIS — Oxford Hills erupted for three runs in the fifth inning and raced away to post a 6-2 victory over Lewiston in a chilly, damp KVAC baseball tilt Monday.

Matt Smith led the Vikings (8-1) with two hits and one RBI, while Brady Lafrance, Aiden Heikkonen and Bailey West all had timely RBI singles for Oxford Hills.

The Blue Devils (2-7) kept Michael Wong on the mound for all seven frames.

St. Dom’s 8, Monmouth 0

MONMOUTH — Gavin Bates scattered three hits and drew ample run support as St. Dom’s easily overpowered Monmouth, 8-0, in MVC baseball action Monday.

Caleb Labrie led the Saints (4-4) with two hits and three RBIs, while Bates helped his own cause with two hits and two RBIs.

Nick Sanborn suffered the loss for the Mustangs (6-2) after working the first two frames.

Edward Little 3, Lawrence 2

AUBURN — Seth Sterling laid down the bunt in the suicide squeeze and Elijah Roe scored the winning run as the Edward Little Red Eddies defeated the Lawrence Bulldogs, 3-2, in eight winnings.

Roe, who had three hits, and also scored another run help lead the Red Eddies offense. Austin Cox had three hits for EL (5-3).

It was a pitching duel as EL starter went Damien St. Pierre went 7 2/3 innings while CJ Jipson picked up the final out of the top of the eighth, and the win. J.T. Nutting went 7 2/3 innings for Lawrence.

Nutting and Adam Littlefield had two hits for Lawrence (2-7) which tied the game in the seventh with two runs.

Winthrop 7, Oak Hill 4

WINTHROP — Senior left fielder and pitcher Matt Sekerak  had a fine outing in relief as Winthrop grabbed a 7-4 victory over Oak Hill in MVC baseball action Monday afternoon.

The Raiders (4-4) broke out to a 4-1 lead after three innings. But the Ramblers (6-1) started a rally after a strike three passed ball to the No. 9 batter in the fifth inning. Senior right fielder Ben Caprara capped the five-run fifth for Winthrop with a two-run triple.

Left fielder Kaleb Morrison had two hits and a run for Oak Hill in the losing effort.

Cape Elizabeth 5, Gray-New Gloucester 1

GRAY — Dillon Roberts scored three times as Cape Elizabeth secured a 5-1 victory over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC baseball action Monday afternoon.

Tim Brigham doubled home Roberts in the fifth inning, and scored on a passed ball for a bit of a scoring cushion for the Capers (5-3).

Senior centerfielder and co-captain Thomas Wood continued his hitting prowess with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate for the Patriots (3-5) in the losing effort.

Telstar 10, Madison 6

BETHEL — Blake Rothwell sparked a fourth inning rally as Telstar cruised to a 10-6 victory over Madison in baseball action Monday afternoon.

The Bulldogs were trailing 4-0 when Rothwell came to the plate with bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth inning. Rothwell drove in two runs and began a combination of hits, walks and errors for a strong inning.

Wells 4, Poland 1

POLAND — Dan Quint and Tim Barnard had two hits each as Wells dispatched Poland 4-1 in baseball action Monday afternoon.

The Warriors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and added a pair of runs in the third inning for a 4-1 lead.

Ethan Caillier went 2-for-3 and plated the lone run for the Knights.

Mt. View 5, Leavitt 3

TURNER — Nate Wren worked around eight Leavitt hits while striking out eight as Mt. View took advantage of Hornet miscues to capture a 5-3 victory in baseball action Monday afternoon.

Mikey Hustus rapped a double and scored two runs for the Mustangs.

Nate Ouellette went 2-for-3 and smacked a double for the Hornets in the losing effort.
