OXFORD — Police said a local woman suffered cuts and bruises when her vehicle drifted over the centerline on Route 26 and struck a tractor-trailer Wednesday morning.

Cindy Walker, 31, was taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, Oxford Police Department Sgt. Alan Coffin said.

Walker was driving north in a Dodge Caravan at about 7:30 a.m. when the front driver’s side struck the rear tires of a truck driven by David Vas, 38, of Cornith, the officer said. The force of the collision wrecked the minivan and punctured several tires on the Hawes Construction & Trucking rig from Bucksport.

The accident remains under investigation. Coffin said it does not appear as though speed or alcohol were factors.

The road was briefly closed to clear debris.
