AUBURN — Two honor students at Central Maine Community College, Chyanna Millett-Cordwell and Janelle Thornley, have been named to the Maine Community College System All-Maine Academic Team. They were among 13 students who were honored recently at a luncheon hosted by the MCCS Board of Trustees.

The All-Maine Academic Team is a program of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for two-year colleges. Students are nominated and selected for the team by their college based on outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and service. The All-Maine Academic Team is co-sponsored by the Bangor Daily News, Northeast Trophy in Presque Isle, Phi Theta Kappa, and the MCCS.

Millett-Cordwell of Waterford is a Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigation major. A member of Phi Theta Kappa, she has earned the highest honors at the College, where she is now employed as an admissions representative.

She plans to continue her studies in social and behavioral sciences at the University of Southern Maine.

Thornley is a Human Services major who lives in Liberty.  She has also earned highest honors and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. While at CMCC she has worked as a resident assistant and was a member of the women’s championship basketball team. She plans to transfer to the University of Maine at Augusta to major in health and human services.
