LIVERMORE FALLS — A cool breeze didn’t stop people from gathering in the downtown area for the annual History Night and Cruise-In.

The Lamb Block parking lot was filled with antique cars, while motorcycles and more vintage cars could be found in spaces up and down Route 17. Some nearby families rode their bikes in to check out the festivities.

Matt and the Barnburners were joined by Jan Gill to provide music for those sitting or standing near their cars. Earlier, the Livermore Elementary Rockin’ Rollers entertained visitors. They were directed by Jan Gill.

John Beaudoin and Lynn Knight had several tables of plants for sale to raise money for the Treat Memorial Library Garden Fund. All of the perennials came from area gardens. The two said they will take requests throughout the summer. Anyone interested may call 357-4600 or 897-2489.

The president of the Jay, Livermore, Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce brought her 1986 El Camino SS. The chamber helped sponsor History Night this year. The car sports a custom paint job and has 116,000 miles on it.

Don Simoneau from American Legion Post 10 was seeking donations to pay for putting wheels on the World War I cannon in Union Park in Livermore Falls.

Many local charities were selling food and beverages or raffling items. Treat Memorial Library was doing a brisk business for its 50/50 raffle while Area Youth Sports was selling french fries and hamburgers near the gazebo. AmeriCorps had a food booth in the Lamb Block parking area. 

Representatives from Bailey Bros. Ford showed models parked near the gazebo for people to look over and perhaps take a test drive. For each survey people filled out, the local Ford dealership donated $20 to Area Youth Sports.  

Jennifer Bowen, proprietor of The Little Emporium, came dressed in attire that would have been seen a century ago.

Preston Labbe and his mother, Tina, rode their bikes to History Night. They were attending the event for the first time. While Preston enjoyed a green snow cone, the two stood against a brick building trying to get warm in the sun.
