1943 – 2014

MECHANIC FALLS — Mary R. Goodrich of Mechanic Falls, born Sept. 26, 1943, in Boston, Mass., passed away in her home on Dec. 22, 2014, after losing her courageous battle with cancer. The day has come to say our final goodbye and lay her in her final resting place.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She looked forward to her weekly Friday night poker game with her friends, as well as going to the casino, bird-watching, cookouts, swimming and most of all, being with her family and friends here in Maine and Charlestown. Her laughter and smile were contagious and will continue to live on in everyone who knew her.

In her passing, she leaves her husband, Myron E Goodrich of Mechanic Falls; seven children: Pauline Ayers and her husband, Brian, of Mechanic Falls, William Cunneen of Oxford, Michael Cunneen of Mechanic Falls, Thomas Cunneen of Mechanic Falls, Kimberly Pelletier and her husband, Stewart, of Hebron, Michele Comeau and her husband, Charles, of Mechanic Falls and James Goodrich of Mechanic Falls; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; three sisters; Margaret Gorrell, Rose King and Katherine Heffernan, all of Charlestown, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Heffernan; a sister, Georgina Lenzi; and three grandchildren.

We would like to thank Central Maine Medical Center Oncology Unit, especially Dr. Nicholette Erickson and all of her staff for the excellent care. We would also like to thank the staff at the Home Healthcare and Hospice for their support, not only to Mary, but also to the family. She has been and will continue to be sadly missed by all.
