AUBURN – A man was hospitalized and a woman was jailed Friday night after a stabbing on Pine Street, police said.
At about 6:20 p.m., police said, officers were sent to 33 Pine St. after receiving a report that a woman with a knife was chasing a man inside an apartment there.
When police arrived, they found a man with two stab wounds to his back, according to police Lt. Scott Watkins. The man was taken to a Lewiston hospital where he was still being treated later Friday.
Outside the apartment, police said, they found 29-year-old Dominique Blevins who was suffering from a small cut on her hand. She was treated at the scene and arrested on a charge of aggravated assault.
Blevins, who lives at the 33 Pine St. apartment, was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail where she was being held later Friday without bail.
The victim was not identified. Police were continuing to investigate the stabbing Friday night. It was unclear what led to the confrontation.
