LEWISTON — A passed ball in the seventh inning allowed Lewiston to close out its 2015 regular season baseball campaign with a 4-3 win over Brunswick on Friday.

The victory unofficially puts the Blue Devils (5-11) into the playoffs. Brock Belanger led Lewiston with three hits and one RBI, while pitcher Mike Wong and Austin Wing each collected two hits.

Zack Meggison suffered the loss after working the sixth and seventh frames.

Winslow 12, Leavitt 3

WINSLOW — After four frames with relatively little scoring, Winslow erupted for seven runs in the fifth and raced away to post a 12-3 victory over Leavitt in KVAC baseball action Friday.

Jake Trask led the Black Raiders (11-3) with four hits, while Dylan Hapworth and Ben Smith each belted out two hits.

Chris Cifelli’s Hornets (5-10) were paced by Ian Godfrey with two hits in the contest. Nick Gagnon picked up the mound win, while Chad Morin suffered the loss.

Boys’ lacrosse

Oak Hill 10, Camden Hills 4

CAMDEN — Alex Mace registered a hat trick Friday, while Kaleb Sturtevant scored twice as Oak Hill outgunned Camden Hills, 10-4, in a late-season boys’ lacrosse matchup.

Matt Gilbert also netted a pair of goals for the Raiders, while Brendon Tervo, Steven Gilbert and Darryn Bailey also tallied.

Calvin Cameron led Camden Hills with a pair of goals, while single tallies from Elliot Matlack and Marcus D’Amato completed the scoring. Matty Martin made 12 saves for Oak Hill, while James Orne turned aside 16 shots for Camden Hills.

Girls’ lacrosse

Portland 14, Edward Little 10

AUBURN — Merritt Ryan netted five goals and Ellis Linsmith added four as Portland hustled to a 14-10 victory over Edward Little in a girls’ lacrosse tilt Friday.

Isabel Strehli chipped in for Portland (5-5) with two goals, while single tallies by Holly Matthews, Sophia Leavitt and Georgia Stoddard completed the scoring.

Francesca Haines led the Red Eddies (3-8) with a game-high six goals, while Olivia Paione added two. Danielle Gagne and Brooke Lever also tallied for Edward Little.

Leavitt 3, Winslow 2 (8 inn.)

WINSLOW — Ashley Kelley belted an RBI single to right field in the eighth inning to give Leavitt a 3-2 a victory over Winslow in KVAC softball action Friday.

Nicole Daigle went 2-for-3 for the Hornets with one RBI, while Morgan Knowlton scored a pair of runs and had one hit. Paige Veilleux led Winslow with three hits, while Brooke Haskell pounded out two.

Abigail Robertson worked all eight frames for Leavitt, allowing six hits and one unearned win.

Lawrence 10, Mt. Blue 9

FARMINGTON — After building a comfortable 8-2 advantage during the first three frames, Lawrence held off a strong seventh-inning rally to record a 10-9 victory over Mt. Blue in a KVAC regular season softball finale Friday.

Lauren Watson led the Bulldogs (6-10) with three hits, while Sarah Chace belted out two hits.

The Cougars (5-11) were paced by Rachelle Bator with four hits, while Kayliegh Fontaine and Taylor Burke each collected two hits.

Nokomis 9, Spruce Mountain 7

JAY — A series of errors in the fifth and sixth frames allowed Nokomis to make a big rally and record a 9-7 victory over Spruce Mountain in KVAC softball action Friday.

Austin Leighton led powerhouse Nokomis (13-3) with three hits and two RBIs, while Audrey Temple and Libby Duniven combined for four hits and three RBIs.

The Phoenix (4-11) were paced by veteran pitcher Emily Keene with three hits and two RBIs, while Megan Duval also belted out three hits and drove in a run. Kaylee Leclerc and Ally Acritelli also contributed with two hits apiece.

Lewiston 17, Brunswick 5 (6 inn.)

LEWISTON — Megan Theriault belted a three run home run as the Lewiston High School Blue Devils picked up their first victory of the softball season with 17-5 victory over the Brunswick Dragons.

Theriault also threw a complete game and her catcher Meagan Gosselin had a double and a triple. Gosselin drove in two runs.

Maggie Phelan drove in three runs for Lewiston (1-15).

Ashley Rowe and Brooke Barter had a double for Brunswick (1-14). Emily Girardin had two hits for the Dragons.
