AUBURN — Two students in the Business Administration/Culinary Arts Program at Central Maine Community College, Theresa Hemond, of Minot, and Cindy Williams, of Topsham, were awarded the 2015 Joseph Graziano Scholarships at a reception held at the college.
Special guest Edmond Gay shared some memories about the life of Joe Graziano, who owned and operated Graziano’s Restaurant in Lisbon for many years before his death in 2000. Gay noted how the scholarships, which have been presented to culinary students at CMCC for a number of years, are an important way of honoring the memory of a man who treated everyone as a friend.
The Culinary Arts Program is a one-year certificate program designed to prepare students for employment in a variety of positions in the food service industry. Students may also elect to earn an associate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Hospitality Management.
