More than 3,000 customers of Central Maine Power Co. were without electrical service in Franklin County on Tuesday night after a pole on Maple Terrace in East Wilton caught fire, a company spokesman said.
Power went out at 7:47 p.m. and was expected to be restored at about 11 p.m., the spokesman said.
As of 9:45 p.m., 3,052 customers in the towns of Carthage, Chesterville, Jay, Weld, Wilton and Perkins Plantation were without power, according to the utility company.
