Eric Michael Hall of Lewiston graduates from Clemson University

CLEMSON, S.C. — Eric Michael Hall, of Lewiston, graduated May 8 from Clemson University.

Hall graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Chemistry.

Hall was among 3,000 students who received degrees in commencement ceremonies in Littlejohn Coliseum.

Auburn resident Brianna Robbins graduates from Lasell College

NEWTON, Mass. — Brianna Robbins, of Auburn, has received a B.A. degree from Lasell College during commencement exercises in May. Robbins majored in Communication.

Samuel Barnes named to dean’s list at Fort Lewis College

DURANGO, Colo. — Samuel Barnes, of Topsham, was named to Fort Lewis College’s Dean’s List for the Spring 2015 semester. Barnes’s major is Business Administration — Tourism & Hospitality Management option.

To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must carry a semester GPA of 3.6 or better in no fewer than 15 credit hours of graded college level work and have completed all work for which they are registered by the end of the semester.

Lauren Frances Shumeyko graduates magna cum laude from USM

Lauren Frances Shumeyko, of Westbrook, graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern Maine in Portland on May 9 with a Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner degree.

While at USM, she worked as a graduate assistant, conducting research and teaching undergraduate nursing majors in research, theory. She has accepted a position with Waldoboro Family Medicine of Pen Bay Health Care in Waldoboro. A graduate of Cheverus High School in 2005 and College of the Holy Cross in 2009, Lauren lives in Westbrook with her husband Jonathan and is the daughter of Paul and Gay (Peterson) Metevier, of North Yarmouth, and the granddaughter of Beverly Peterson, of Auburn.

At the Nursing Convocation on May 8, she was pinned by her mother and grandmother, both of whom are RNs.

Local resident graduates from Hamilton College

Clinton, N.Y. — Emily M. Grund, daughter of Susan Pease, of Auburn, and David Grund, also of Auburn, received a B.A. degree from Hamilton College on Sunday, May 24, at the Commencement ceremony concluding the college’s 203rd year.

Kathryn Smith named to Dean’s List at Bob Jones University

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Kathryn Smith, a freshman Communication Disorders major of Litchfield, was among approximately 830 Bob Jones University students named to the Spring 2015 Dean’s List. The Dean’s List recognizes students who earn a 3.00-3.74 GPA.

Lewiston High School graduate honored at University Awards Luncheon

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Jacob Lapierre, of Poland, received departmental honors in psychology at Susquehanna University’s annual Student Awards Luncheon, held each May in the days leading up to commencement.

This honor is presented to students who earn a GPA of at least 3.5 in psychology courses, must score a high pass on the departmental comprehensive exam, and must conduct an independent research project and present the results in a public forum.

Lapierre was a psychology major in the Class of 2015. A 2011 graduate of Lewiston, he is the son of Gerry and Brenda Lapierre.

Gray resident graduates from Wheaton College

NORTON, Mass. — Molly Grannell, of Gray, was one of 371 members of the Class of 2015 to earn degrees from Wheaton College in Norton, Mass. on May 16, during the college’s 180th Commencement ceremony. Grannell graduated cum laude with a B.A. in biology.

Local residents named to spring Nichols College dean’s list

DUDLEY, Mass. — Nichols College in Dudley, Mass., has recognized 454 students who achieved dean’s list or Dean’s High Honors for their academic work during the spring term.

Nicole Ross, Class of 2017, of Topsham, has achieved Dean’s High Honors for academic work during the spring term.

Breanna Wilkinson, Class of 2016, of Casco, has achieved Dean’s High Honors for academic work during the just completed Spring term.

The dean’s list recognizes students who have achieved high grades during a single semester. In order to be included in the dean’s list, a student must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2 for at least 12 credit-hours and receive no grade below a C+ during the semester.

A student who earns a GPA of 3.6 or higher is awarded Dean’s High Honors.

KEENE, N.H. — On Saturday, May 9, Keene State College’s Commencement honored the graduating class of 2015. This year’s graduates included the following local students:

Adam Beaulieu, of Sabattus, graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. degree in architecture.

Grace Lemieux, of Winthrop, graduated with a B.F.A. degree in art.

Reece Teixeira, of Lewiston, graduated with a B.S. degree in Sustainable Product Design.

Amber Williams, of Durham, graduated with a B.S. degree in Health Science.
