LIVERMORE FALLS — Just under 200 residents went to the polls Tuesday to approve a $2.37 million municipal budget and re-elect Selectman Louise Chabot and elect former Selectman Jeff Bryant.
Chabot received 95 votes to former Selectman Bill Demaray’s, 83.
Former Selectman Jeff Bryant received 100 votes to Budget Committee member Ronnalean Sanborn’s 74.
Unopposed were Jackie Knight for a three-year term on the Regional School Unit 73 board, and former Selectman Laurie Sanborn for a one-year seat on the school board.
Voters also approved financing two trucks for up to $229,000 and adopted a property maintenance ordinance meant to clean up some homes in the downtown area.
Selectmen will meet next week to order a replacement for a 1998 highway plow truck and for a new pickup/plow truck. The vote was 89-80.
Most funding articles were the same, slightly lower or slightly higher than those adopted in 2014. Receiving the most votes were: $62,718 for Treat Memorial Library, 134-49; $120,000 for paving, 151-33; $1,500 for the Tri-Town Ministerial Association Food Cupboard, 153-31; and $1,500 for the Tri-Town Fuel Fund, 139-44.
Also approved were: $95,470 for the Fire Department; $418,574 for the Police Department; and $203,203 for administration and supplies.
The first half of property taxes will be due Oct. 21 and the second half on March 16, 2016.
