BUCKFIELD — William L. McAlister Sr., 75, of Buckfield died Monday, June 16, at his home.
He was born in Oxford on July 20, 1939, the son of Clinton and Marian Bailey McAlister. He had been employed at Cullinan Oil, Perry Tire Shop in Buckfield, Phillip Adams as a pulp truck driver, and for many years, he was a self-employed mechanic at Will’s Garage.
He enjoyed coffee with the guys every Thursday, camping, four-wheeling, hunting and loved his lawnmower. He was a family man.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Buckfield; son, Gary Sr.; son, Dennis and wife, Diane; daughter, Heidi Young and friend, Doug Collins; son, Clinton; son, William Jr. and wife, Bonnie; son, Mark; daughter, Beth; grandchildren, Gary Jr., Andrea, Justin, Nicole, Angela, Jacob, Stanley Jr., William (Willie), Sabrina and Megan; a brother, Phillip McAlister of Buckfield; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Richard McAlister and his wife, Roberta; and sister-in-law, Wilma.
