Steven Yardley Receives Moving-Up Day Award from St. Lawrence University
CANTON, N.Y. — Steven T. Yardley of Farmington received an award at St. Lawrence University’s Moving-Up Day ceremony, which was held on April 25 in Canton, N.Y.
Yardley is a member of the Class of 2016 and is majoring in English and music. Yardley graduated from Mount Blue High School. Yardley was presented with the James Ligon Price III Memorial Award in Poetry- third, which is given in conjunction with the Academy of American Poets in New York City. The recipient is the winner of the annual open poetry competition in the English department.
Castleton College holds annual Nursing Pinning Ceremony
CASTLETON, Vt. — Castleton College nursing student Samantha Largess, of Bethel, was recently recognized at the annual Castleton Nursing Pinning Ceremony.
At this year’s ceremony, 21 Bachelors of Science in nursing graduates were recognized, along with 56 Associate of Science in nursing graduates.
Van Haasteren Interns at Lowes
SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Corrie Van Haasteren, of Raymond, is serving an internship this summer at Lowes.
Van Haasteren’s responsibilities include financial analysis, financial reporting, and drafting accounting policies. Through the course of this internship, Van Haasteren will gain experience with GAAP and SEC regulations as well as modifying a real time financial plan in accordance with new information.
Van Haasteren is an economics major in the Class of 2016. A 2012 graduate of Hebron Academy High School, he is the son of Christopher and Ellen Van Haasteren.
Brittney Robinson graduates from Lyndon State College
LYNDONVILLE, Vt. — Brittney Robinson, of Kingfield, was among the more than 270 graduates of the 103rd commencement ceremony at Lyndon State College on May 17, 2015. Robinson received a Bachelor of Science in mountain recreation management.
Juniata College announces graduates
HUNTINGDON, Pa. — Juniata College has announced its 2015 graduates.
Elias Richard Murphy, of Poland, and Anthony Joseph Salpietro, of Readfield, graduated May 16.
Murphy, son of Kevin Murphy and Martha Stone, received his Bachelor of Arts degree in peace psychology. While at Juniata, he was vice president of the senior class, was vice president for the Juniata Activities Board, and was a member of the track and field team for four years. Murphy is a 2011 graduate of Poland Regional High School.
Salpietro, son of Thomas and Patricia Salpietro, received his Bachelor of Arts degree in politics. Salpietro is a 2011 graduate of Maranacook Community School.
