JAY — Local police are investigating a burglary at My Dad’s Place in North Jay, reported by an alarm at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Sgt. Russell Adams found the front glass door to the convenience store shattered, Jay Detective Michael Mejia said in a new release.

After reviewing security camera footage, it was determined two people entered the business, Mejia said.

“Both fled the scene after triggering the alarm system inside the store, leaving with minimal property,” he said.

Chief Richard Caton IV and Detective Michael Mejia went to the store. Evidence was collected for analysis at the Maine State Crime Lab.

Anyone able to identify the men in the images is asked to contact Jay police at 897-6766. Video of the burglary can be seen on the Jay Police Department Facebook page.

Other overnight burglaries at convenience stores in New Vineyard and Weld have been reported and are also under investigation.
