BETHEL — Two Bethel brothers will officially release their first book on Saturday, July 18, at the annual MollyOckett Day Festival, said Wende Gray, president of the Ski Museum of Maine.

The book “We Jumped,” by Robert and Thomas Remington, focuses on the history of ski jumping in Maine and New Hampshire from the 1950s through the 1980s.

“They chronicle ski jumping history, ski jumpers, and ski jumping sites, along with their own stories and memories,” Gray said.

The book will be on sale at the MollyOckett Day Festival, online at Amazon.com, and at Barnes and Noble for $15, with proceeds going to the Ski Museum of Maine in Kingfield.

In a museum press release, Bob Remington, who was voted into the Maine Ski Hall of Fame in 2005, said, “We need to preserve our ski history, both alpine and Nordic. I hope we’ll sell lots of books to help the Ski Museum’s mission.”

Founded in 1995, The Ski Museum of Maine is a nonprofit organization established with the mission to celebrate and preserve the history and heritage of Maine skiing.
