RUMFORD — The Board of Selectmen is expected to act Thursday on the final terms to lease land for a zip line project.

The meeting gets underway at 6:30 p.m. in the Rumford Falls Auditorium.

The board met July 7 in executive session with town attorney Jennifer Kreckel to discuss the lease to Wow-Za! Ziplines, LLC. A second executive session among the board, the town attorney and Wow-Za! Ziplines developers was held. Town Manager John Madigan said the board did not take any action after returning to public session.

On June 9, residents voted 745-505 in favor of leasing three parcels along the Androscoggin River so Wow-Za! Ziplines can build a zip line park. One parcel is north of Morency Park on the east side of the river, one is across from Rite Aid and the third is near the town’s snow dump on Rumford Avenue.

Wow-Za! Ziplines members are Tom Carey, Jim Sysko and Seth Carey, with Jim Rinaldo acting as a consultant.

Rinaldo said Wow-Za! Ziplines has gotten the approval of the Planning Board.
