1921 – 2015

RUMFORD — Peter “Pat” Moskus Jr., 94, died Friday, July 17, at his home on Maple Street, Rumford.

He was born in Rumford on May 11, 1921, the son of Peter and Ellen (Morauskis) Moskus Sr. He had attended Mexico schools.

He served as a Tec-5 in the U.S. Army, Co D, 336 Engineers Combat Battalion during World War II.

Pat worked at the Rumford Paper Mill for over 42 years until retirement from the maintenance department in 1984.

He was a Communicant of Parish of the Holy Parish, St. Athanasius – St. John Church; a member of the F.O.E, the B.P.O.E., the American Legion and the V.F.W.; and he enjoyed the outdoors, especially snowmobiling and going to Flea Markets with his wife, Rita.

He was married in Rumford on Aug. 9, 1949, to the former Mary “Rita” Lefebvre, who died in West Paris on Jan. 11, 2005.

Survivors include a son, Peter W. Moskus of Rumford; a sister, Elizabeth Belanger of Mexico; and a special dance partner, Florence.
