The auction will feature works from the Western Maine Art Group’s collection. Works to be auctioned include two landscape oil paintings of local subjects by Duncan Slade, including this one of “The Opera House,” a watercolor of the Gingerbread House entitled “Apartment Porches” by Kathleen Turner, a landscape in oil entitled “Mountain and Stream in the Oxford Hills” by Minnie Libby, paintings by Ethel Wright, Bill Paxton, Zilpha Plummer, Chris Sheridan and other artworks of local interest. Before the auction, the art will be displayed at Matolcsy Art Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Thursday, July 30 and the day of the auction.
