NORWAY — Firefighters believe lightning is the culprit behind a fire that gutted a storage shed on Pleasant Street on Sunday evening.

The strike blew a detached electrical box from which a power cord ran to the shed at 466 Pleasant St., Norway fire Chief Dennis Yates said Monday. The resulting fire gutted the shed, destroying some gear stored inside, including a lawnmower belonging to Patrick Prue.

Firefighters from Norway, Paris, Harrison, Poland, Waterford and Oxford responded to the blaze, which started around 10 p.m. There were no injuries.
