FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to 84 complaints between July 11 and July 17. Deputies conducted one elder check and 22 building checks during this reporting period. All were secure.
* July 11, Deputy Kevin Hartley responded to a 911 hangup on Avon Valley Road in Avon. It was determined that the calling party had accidentally hit the emergency button on his phone by mistake.
* July 11, Deputy Nicholas Zecher, Deputy Colt Bernhardt and Trooper Reid Bond responded to Avon Valley Road in Avon regarding a report of a domestic disturbance. As a result of the investigation, Bond arrested Jason Bachelder, 34, and transported him to jail. Zecher charged Bachelder with domestic violence assault once he completed the investigation.
* July 11, Bernhardt responded to Tripp Road in Chesterville for a report of a suicidal person. The person was determined not to be in immediate crisis. Bernhardt contacted a crisis worker to respond.
* July 11, Cpl. Nate Bean responded to a report of automatic weapons fire coming from the area of Jackson Hole in Carthage.
* July 12, Bean and Zecher responded to Chesterville Hill Road in Chesterville regarding a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, they discovered that a boyfriend and girlfriend had been having a verbal altercation over an incident earlier in the evening. It was determined that no crimes took place. The parties were separated for the evening.
* July 12, Zecher investigated a report of criminal mischief on Main Street in Stratton. A Bobcat tractor had been vandalized over the weekend.
* July 12, Zecher responded to Split Rock Trail in Rangeley Plantation for a 911 hangup.
* July 13, Hartley conducted a welfare check at Bray Hill Road in Phillips.
* July 13, Hartley responded to North New Portland to assist Somerset County Sheriff’s Office with a reported burglary in progress.
* July 13, Lt. David Rackliffe investigated a complaint from Bray Hill Road in Phillips. It was a civil issue between two parties who have been living at the residence.
* July 14, Detective Ken Charles investigated a Department of Health and Human Services referral in Chesterville. As a result of the investigation, Devin Medcoff was charged with aggravated assault.
* July 14, Rackliffe investigated a report of a burglary on Hollow Road in Weld. The report was unfounded.
* July 14, Cpl. Christopher Chase assisted Maine State Police with an accident at the intersection of Main Street and Route 4 in Strong.
* July 15, Bernhardt responded to an unattended death on Dodge Road in Avon. It was determined the victim had a heart attack.
* July 15, Rackliffe and Chief Deputy Steven Lowell responded to Dutch Gap Road in Chesterville to assist Maine State Police with a report of a domestic disturbance.
* July 15, Chase investigated a tractor trailer accident on Route 27 in Jim Pond Township.
* July 16, Bernhardt investigated a late report of a crash on Farmington Falls Road in New Sharon.
* July 16, Bean charged Stephen Waugh, 56, of Oquossoc, with operating under the influence after stopping Waugh in his vehicle in Oquossoc.
