OAKLAND (AP) — Two juveniles have been charged for allegedly setting a fire at the site of the former Cascade Woolen Mill in Oakland.
Police and fire crews were called to Cascade Mill Road at around 3:40 p.m. Friday to investigate a report of smoke coming out of one of the buildings. The mill itself burned five years ago, but several smaller buildings remain.
Police told the Morning Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1D8fWqv ) that the person who called in the fire reported seeing kids running away from the area.
Firefighters found a fire smoldering in a 55-gallon drum in one of the buildings and extinguished it.
Two boys on bicycles were caught by Sgt. Tracey Frost and charged with arson.
The Cascade Mill burned down in January 2010.
