Alexa Varnum chipped in for the Cougars with two assists.
Morgan Morrow made seven saves for Dirigo, while Blair Stevens turned aside nine shots between the posts for Telstar.
Brewer 2, Lewiston 1
BREWER — Hannah Spencer-Cross converted a pass from Hannah Smith at the 15:10 mark in the second half to give Brewer a 2-1 victory over Lewiston in a KVAC field hockey tilt Friday.
MJ Sellars gave the Witches (2-2) a 1-0 advantage in the first frame with an assist from Maria Maxsinie.
Michele Maybury made nine saves for Brewer, while Kaylyn Labonte deflected nine shots for the Blue Devils (0-4).
St. Dom’s 3, Hall-Dale 0
FARMINGDALE — Freshman forward Eisa Le pegged a pair of goals to lead St. Dom’s to a 3-0 shutout victory over Hall-Dale in MVC field hockey action Friday afternoon.
The Saints (3-2) dominated on offense, outpacing the Bulldogs (0-4) by a margin of 25-1 in shots and 18-0 in penalty corners. Erin Lachance contributed a pair of assists.
Goalie Kaylee Magee was splendid in net for Hall-Dale, makeing 22 saves to keep the game from getting out of hand. Goalie Gabby Cortellino only needed to make one save to earn the win in net for St. Dom’s.
Girls’ soccer
Gray-NG 4, Lake Region 2
GRAY — Laurel Thomas and Sarah Giggey netted a pair of goals each as Gray-New Gloucester sailed past Lake Region, 4-2, in girls’ soccer action Friday afternoon.
Kristen Huntress scored both of the Lakers’ (0-3) goals, one in each half.
Goalie Madison Rock made four saves for Lake Region, while goalie Jen Sutherland made three stops to earn the win in net for the Patriots (2-1).
Boys’ soccer
Lisbon 3, Winthrop 1
LISBON — Austin Bedford led a trio of players to record goals as Lisbon rolled to a 3-1 win over Winthrop in MVC boys’ soccer action Friday.
Troy Galarneau and Bradley Boulet also tallied for Dan Sylvester’s Greyhounds (3-0), while Austin Fournier provided the assist on all three goals.
Jonah Sautter needed only one save to notch the win, while Brandon Baxter turned aside eight shots for the Ramblers (0-3).
Mt. Abram 5, Oak Hill 0
WALES — Travis Chaput led a group of five players to record goals Friday as Mt. Abram earned its first win of 2015 with a 5-0 rout over Oak Hill.
Gavin Haggan, Luke Romanowski, Court Talmage and Evan Mackay also tallied for the Roadrunners (1-1) to complete the scoring.
Glendon Howard needed only two saves to preserve the shutout, while Kaleb Morissette turned aside six shots in net for the Raiders (0-3).
Monmouth 8, Telstar 3
BETHEL — Mid-fielder Hunter Richardson registered a hat trick Friday to propel Monmouth to a convincing 8-3 win over Telstar in a MVC boys’ soccer matchup.
Avery Pomerleau chipped in for the Mustangs with two goals, while Gage Cote, Chandler Harris and Nick Sanborn also tallied. Kellen True scored all three goals for the Rebels.
Bradley Neal made 10 saves for Monmouth, while Tanner Wheeler deflected 21 shots between the posts for Telstar.
