PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A hundred immigrants from around the world are expected to take the oath of citizenship in Maine.

Officials say the event at the University of Southern Maine’s Hannaford Hall Auditorium on Thursday coincides with Constitution Day and Citizenship Day.

The observance of the 228th anniversary of the Constitution of the United States and the 226th anniversary of the federal courts, which were established by the Judiciary Act of 1789. The District of Maine was one of the original thirteen district courts established by the Judiciary Act of 1789.

U.S. District Judge Jon Levy will preside over the ceremony and will be accompanied by Chief U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Peter Cary and U.S. Magistrate Judge David Cohen.
